What are Network Components - Patch Cable - Patch Cord - Patch Panel - Switch

network components

As Network Components, we define all network components that are needed to physically and logically connect two or more devices, enabling the transfer of data and power from one device to another for the purpose of sharing resources and exchanging information.

Some of the key elements are:

Patch Cables - Cords, special cables that "patch in", i.e. connect the devices that communicate with each other by transferring power and data at speeds with yields measured in CAT (Cat 5, Cat 5e, Cat6, Cat 6a, Cat 7 etc.) Also for protection against electromagnetic interference (EMI) and noise there are insulated - shielded twisted pair cables (STP) and non-insulated - unshielded twisted pair cables (UTP).

Patch Panels - special panels - termination point of Patch Cables which helps to better manage multiple cables. They are necessary for installations of networks, call centres, security systems - cameras etc.

A Network Switch is a device that provides a connection between different parts of a network, providing full two-way communication between them, enhancing their performance. It accomplishes this by distributing the "packets" of information that arrive at its nests to the nests that lead to the devices to which those packets are destined.
